This has been an unusually harsh winter, and you’re probably wondering when you can use your pool
again. Warmer weather will be here eventually, so don’t despair. The question is, have you been
maintaining your pool throughout the winter so you can jump in as soon as better weather arrives?
Microorganisms don’t stop reproducing in cold weather, they just slow down. Any chlorine you added
before winter hit has probably degraded and no longer helping. You need to use algaecides to keep pH
levels normal and run your pump for a couple of days to circulate the chemical.
If you’re unsure what you should do, contact Phoenix Pools and let the trained pool professionals help
you out with care and cleaning. They can check the water plus the pump and pipes. Freezing weather
affects everything that has water in it.
You may also want to consider putting a cover on your pool if you don’t have one. A cover keeps debris
out and makes cleaning so much easier.
Before long, you’ll be able to open your pool back up and jump in. You don’t want any surprises to keep
you out of the water such as broken equipment, dirty water, or algae buildup.
Call Phoenix Pools and let them make sure your pool is ready to enjoy when you want it.
